The Age of Aquarius, in astrology, is either the current or forthcoming astrological age, depending on the method of calculation. Astrologers maintain that an astrological age is a product of the earth's slow precessional and lasts for 2,160 years, on average (one Great Year equals 25,920-year period of precession / 12 zodiac signs = 2,160 years).

There are various methods of calculating the boundaries of an astrological age. In sun-sign astrology, the first sign is Aries, followed by Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces, whereupon the cycle returns to Aries and through the zodiacal signs again. Astrological ages proceed in the opposite direction ("retrograde" in astronomy). Therefore, the Age of Aquarius follows the Age of Pisces. [1]

What is the Age of Aquarius?

We are currently at the beginning of a 2,000-year cycle and transition from the age of Pisces to Aquarius. Pisces is the sign of spirituality and belief. The age of Pisces dates back to the time of Christ, and its characteristics have, in cosmic terms, been instrumental in shaping our story up till now. Like a tide, the astrological ages emerge in waves, and the strong, challenging currents we are presently navigating could very well be the forces of Pisces leaving and of Aquarius entering – a revolutionary humanitarian sign concerned with community, not elitism. In the past centuries and decades, we have seen a rise in mass religion. Contrary to that, Aquarius is the sign of innovation, technology, and revolution, as well as intellect. It is also an inventor and the driving force behind the digital age, connecting all humanity for the very first time in history. Aquarius is also the carrier of water, and a fixed air astrology sign, with a desire to disrupt outdated values and serve as a guiding light into a new kind of future. It urges us to be in touch with our true selves, not what society has imposed upon us.  Our conciseness is supposed to transcend to a new level and our understanding of the universe will broaden and expand. And we can already start seeing these influences with the recent evolutions and aim to travel to the space.

On December 21, 2020, we experienced once-in-a-lifetime conjunction of planets - Jupiter and Saturn together at 0 degree in the astrological sign of Aquarius.  That conjunction marked an eight-hundred-year cycle. Jupiter and Saturn meet every 20 years and every 200 hundred years cycle. They have been meeting in signs of the same element. We have been in an earth element cycle for 200 years now. It is rare for one to be alive in the range where it’s shifting elements. Since the eighteen hundreds, Jupiter and Saturn were always meeting in Earth Signs (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo). This set the tone for reality. We can reflect upon the Industrial Revolution Evolution and emphasis on conquering the land. However, in this new cycle we are moving into a 200-year emphasis on air signs (Aquarius, Gemini, Libra). This will not repeat for another 800 years!

The planetary ruler of Aquarius is Uranus. It is known as the "Awakener," since it aspects and transits bring sudden changes and shifts, it is the quirky innovator, and sometimes upheavals are a necessary break from restrictions in favor of a more liberated path. Aquarius represents the sharing of all creation. 

The Age of Aquarius is going to be a time of expanded consciousness when we can take control of the earth and become more mindful of human rights. It’s a time of collaboration and connections with like-minded individuals. It is a period of using free energy, working with frequencies, better understanding of brain functions, our energies, and bodies. Some people might even feel a calling to guide others toward enlightenment. There will be more emphasis on freedom and independence, and perhaps revolutions against computer technology and related science (such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality, and many others).  Aquarius is the age of self-realization and the true age of knowledge. In this age, dogmatic types of religion will cease to be taught, and all dogmatic forms will disappear. Science and religion will merge. People will begin to understand that spirit and matter are derived from the same one source. It is the desire to pool and merge the time, efforts, and resources of the individual with those of the larger society to create something new for the benefit of everyone.

People born in this era will not tolerate suffering of any sort. Some of current highly sensitive people may finally present their gifts to their communities as a representation of the higher vibrations of Neptune represented with unconditional love and compassion. Healing with sound and music will become a norm as well as healing with energies such as Reiki, theta healing, or any new type of healing that include either sound or energy frequencies will be on the rise.

The Age of Aquarius will be bringing in new life. The Aquarius spirit is typically on the leading edge of style, trends and future developments that will greatly influence the world. Life can change on a dime, and you may find yourself in exactly the right place at the right time.  But in the beginning, we will witness some significant upheavals in the world. And these shifts will give birth to a whole new timeline where the consciousness of 5’th dimensional living will thrive. We can see the movements towards freedom and human rights just evolving, but they will become more significant in our lives. No matter what we believe in, there is no two ways about this transition; the world as we know is rapidly changing and we are being asked to evolve – physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually.
